DALI'' 40 - 70

 

TECHNICALCHARACTERISTICS

 

The Dalì 40 machining centre hasbeen designed to perform complex boring, milling and tappingoperations on the three sides of aluminium or steel profiles. Themechanical specifications of this modern machining centre and ofits control system provide economical use in the production ofsingle pieces and limited or medium series with high productivityand precision.

 

 

Structure

 

The structure consists of amachine bed with a beam that slides across the top of it. Bothparts are made of steel and are duly stabilised after each workphase to ensure that there is no interior tension; they are ofsufficient size to guarantee stability and precision duringmachining operations.

 

 

Axis sliding

 

The axes slide along highprecision, robust and reliable linear guideways with recirculatingball blocks that have four points of contact equipped with oilscrapers and with medium/high preloading.

 

 

Axes drives

 

The independent axes arecontrolled by brushless Yaskawa servomotors by means of:

 

• A helical rack and pinionsystem for the X axis (longitudinal)

• Recirculating ball screw groundto high precision and a preloaded worm screw for the Y (transverse)and Z (vertical) axes. The Z axis drive has an electromagneticbrake which is activated if the mains power is switched off for anyreason.

 

The digital servomotors used notonly allow quick and optimal positioning and adjustment times butalso high speed.

 

 

Electrospindle

 

Designed by Fom Industrie, thiselectrospindle ensures excellent performance, both at lowrevolutions as well as at high speed, to satisfy the increasingdemands made on the machines in terms of flexibility. It isequipped with 4 Kw constant torque and is fitted with an B axis inorder to work on three sides and if necessary at intermediatepositions on a profile, rotation speed of up to 12, 000 rpm,adjustable, forced air cooling, ISO 30 DIN 69871 tool coupling andrelative presence detecting micro-switch. Front and rear high speedprecision bearings ensure strict control of the electrospindleaxial and radial stress during the work phases.

 

 

Tool magazine

 

Located on the carriage in aprotected area; it has 7 slots.

 

 

 

Working area

 

This is part of the machine bedand comprises:

 

• 4 pneumatic vices (expandable)for clamping the profiles. They slide along linear guides andlocking is pneumatic. The cylinders that clamp the profiles havequick manual positioning. The pads are non-slip with rocker armsand offer vertical adjustment.

• 1 retractable pneumaticstop.

 

 

Guard and safetydevices

 

In compliance with therequirements of directive CEE 89/392 and successive modifications,there is a barrier all around the machine perimeter fitted withretractable doors

 

SOFTWARE - FOMCAM

 

Graphic interface based on theWindows operating system for planning the machining operations andthe pieces which automatically generates the CNC program that canbe executed by the machining centre

 

Program features:

• Display of the profile shapestarting from the profile in DXF.

• Graphic representation of themachining operations to be carried out (boring, linear milling,circular milling, slot milling).

• Easy control over the sequenceof machining operations.

• A graphic simulation of themachining operations.

• Display of the technicalinformation regarding the pieces to be machined and thetools.

• Commands can be selected ingraphic mode.

• Creates parametric workpiecesand machining operations.

• Creates repeated machiningoperations

• Automatically calculates theoptimal vice positioning

• Manages work lists.

• Integrated interface fordialogue with microvision

• Display of the piece andmachining operations in CAD 2D (also available in 3D onrequest)

• Rigid and chase tapping cycle(available on request).

• FLOWDRILL boring (available onrequest).

• Geometries imported in DXFformat (available on request).

• Automatic identification of theworkpiece to be machined by bar code reading system (available onrequest).

 

 

FOM CAM is installed in apersonal computer (not included) with the following minimum systemrequirements:

• Pentium 4 processor, 1 GHz orhigher

• 256 MBytes RAM
